The Blind Date Meme

For whatever reason, your character finds themselves on a blind date.

Did they sign up for it, looking for fun or romance? Did they get talked into it? Lose a bet? Get signed up by a well-meaning friend? Whatever the case, they're obligated now.

But maybe it won't be so bad...

"Y'know what? So did I. Guess we're both fretters...and y'know what my granny used to say about that?"

She whipped out another treat from behind her back, spearing it with a fork and dangling it under his nose. "More fritter!"

Morgan giggled, not the most dignified and manly noise in the world, as he took a chomp. Whatever else was playing out in this date, he had to admit she made some damn good food.

"Gonna have to work all this off, the rate you're tempting me with sweets!"

[appletastic]

She slid some across the table at him, twirling a conveniently-shaped fritter with a hole in the middle around her finger. "Aww, don't fuss. I could help you out with that..."

[morganknight]

"Oh yeah?" Scooping up another fritter, Morgan took a healthy bite of it, eyes locked to hers as he chewed, then swallowed, with no particular haste. "Well, I did note you were pretty athletic..."

[appletastic]

"Rodeo champion three years running," she added, a tiny smirk on her lips. "Take what you will from that."

She leaned over the counter, studying him with a curious eye. This was dangerous, but she couldn't stop.

Dangerous? Morgan was totally harmless! Or at least... not a danger. Not in any way she wouldn't want. Being otherwise would be utterly counter to his nature.

Which might be a hard distinction to make, as he leaned in himself. "Sounds like quite an achievement. Guess I better be the perfect gentleman or I might end up lassoed..."

[appletastic]

"Unless you, uh...want to be lassoed?"

That was a thing, right? She could totally do it. Maybe a little rougher than she intended to be. And definitely getting ahead of herself.

"I think you're the kind of guy who wants to make some trouble."

Was she nervous? Absolutely. So many things could go wrong. But they could also go right, a tiny voice reminded herself.

"I think if you lassoed me, I wouldn't be a perfect gentleman," he said with a wink, as he lifted one hand with deliberate slowness to rest his fingers on her cheek. "But you know, some people would say going through a rodeo is a lot of trouble... And yet you seem to like it..."
